Our Doctor

Dr. Lott, a native of East Texas, attended Texas A&M University where he received two Bachelor of Science degrees—one in animal science and one in veterinary science. He also attended veterinary school at Texas A&M and graduated with honors from the College of Veterinary Medicine in 1995. Upon graduation, he began mixed animal practice at Ward Animal Hospital in Nacogdoches. He later moved to Southwood Drive Animal Clinic in Lufkin, Texas where he also practiced veterinary medicine on numerous species. In 2000, he took a position at Pearland Animal Hospital in Pearland, Texas where he focused exclusively on small animal medicine and surgery. He also worked as a relief veterinarian at multiple Pet’s Choice 24-hour emergency hospitals in the Houston area. In July of 2002, he and his wife, Stephanie, purchased Appleby Sand Road Animal Clinic and moved their family back to Nacogdoches.

Dr. Lott uses a practical, analytical approach to medicine to diagnose his patients and makes every effort to effectively communicate with his clients about their pet’s health.

Our Staff

Amanda has been a part of our team at Appleby Sand Road Animal Clinic for almost 6 years. She graduated from Stephen F. Austin State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in pre-pharmacy and a minor in combined sciences and math. Amanda has worked in the pharmaceutical industry and she has completed her Certified Veterinary Assistant certification. When she has free time, Amanda loves exploring local trails, watching movies, and snapping thousands of pictures of her son Ian. Ian is her number one, but her dachshunds, Penny and Bailey, and her corgi, Sascha, all come in for a close second.

Gwen an East Texas native. She has been involved with helping animals for well over a decade between working for shelters, grooming, boarding, and being a technician. Animals are her passion. She currently has an entire crew of pets at home, but she still has plenty of love and attention to give your pet on your next visit!

Stephanie grew up in East Texas and graduated from Stephen F. Austin with a degree in Animal Science. She knew from a very early age that she wanted to have a career in the veterinary field and has been a technician for the past 7 years. Stephanie just recently became a new mom to a sweet baby boy and enjoys spending her extra time with him and her husband. Stephanie has four dogs and two cats and embraces the busy lifestyle that involves! Stephanie loves meeting new pets, and people and can't wait to take care of all of your fur kids needs!

Nico was born and raised in Medellin, Colombia. Ever since the age of four, his dream has been to become an Equine Veterinarian. He moved to the United States eight years ago, and he started working at AAH in November of 2016. He loves coming to work every day to see his furry friends and expand on his knowledge of the veterinary field whether it is small animals, large animals, or exotic animals. He has been involved in animal care jobs and canine rescue for the past 4 years. During his free time, Nico enjoys painting, playing ultimate frisbee, and jogging with his Australian Shepherd Ossy. In 2013 Nico lost his mother to ovarian cancer. Since then, he has been trying to live his life by a quote by Dr. Seuss: “Don’t cry because it’s over, smile because it happened.”

Taylor graduated from Martinsville.  She loves the Lott family, and is thrilled to be our receptionist here at Appleby Sand Road Animal Clinic.  Taylor loves her two cats, Kris and Princess, and also her dog, FeFe.  Though squirrels are her favorite, she’ll still enjoy meeting your cat or dog the next time you come visit us!

My name is Cecil.   I have been a clinic cat at other places, but I was always bullied about my folded ears, so I was never very happy.  That’s why my face is chronically in this “anger pose”.  But I am really happy here because they do not judge me about being Scottish, or having folded ears (you know you didn’t choose your parents well either!!).

I have promoted myself to office director.  I choose the chairs that people are allowed to sit in and when they can sit there.  It’s a really cool job.  Sometimes at night, I practice typing on the keyboards so one day I can be completely in charge here at the clinic.

When you come visit us, I will come up and talk to you.  Everyone seems to think I am saying, “please scratch me”, but I’m actually speaking Gaelic!  If I’m not roaming about when you arrive, I’m probably in the office where I like to pretend to be sick so everyone will love on me.  I can’t wait to see you at our clinic!
